Q: Who are you?
A: Preloved Lux is a vintage luxury retailer in Ontario, Canada that specializes in authentic handbags and accessories from designer brands including Hermès, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and more! We obtain our preloved luxury goods from individual clients locally and online. Preloved Lux is not affiliated with any of the brands listed on our website. All products are guaranteed to be 100% authentic and go through an intensive our in-house verification process as well as the use of 3rd party authenticators.
Q: Can I choose to pick up my order from you?
A: With orders pay by Paypal, we will need to ship the item to you as per Paypal and our store policy.  Our showroom in Downtown Toronto is currently available for appointment booking. Please note that we have limited availability as our main office is in North Bay, Ontario.  Not all the items on the website will be available in the showroom. Q: How can I trust the authenticity of your items?
A: Our in-house experts have years of experience, and examine authenticity codes, brand markings, date codes, holograms, leather quality, serial numbers, stamps, stitching and zippers to verify authenticity.  For an added layer of protection, we also use 3rd party authenticators - Authenticate First and Entrupy.  These are the most reputable authentication services available today.  We provide high resolution images of our merchandise to them and after a detailed inspection process they issue certificates guaranteeing the authenticity of our preloved items.  We are so sure of the authenticity of our items that we offer 100% money back guarantee for authenticity.
For more information about our authentication service providers: Authenticate First and Entrupy.  The money back guarantee process is as follows: 1. choose a reputable authentication service - please first verify with us that they are on our trusted list. You will have to pay for their service. 2. forward to us the authenticator's written declaration that the item is non-authentic, then we will reimburse you for the authentication fee and supply you with a shipping label to send the item back to us. Once we receive the item we will refund the full value of your purchase. Rest assured, the item will not be resold and will instead be used as an educational reference for our authentication team.

Q: What is the currency on your website? (Why does the price go up in the cart?)
A: Prices are based on the Canadian Dollar CAD.  US Customers please review this page.
Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: Our website accepts the following methods:
1. Paypal:
Customers without accounts on Paypal may use their credit card under "Guest Checkout". Please note we only ship to PayPal verified addresses; your delivery address must match your PayPal shipping address.  Otherwise, we reserve the right to cancel your order and issue you a refund immediately. 
2. Email Money Transfer:
We have disabled this option, however you may contact us via email if you would like to pay using this method.
3. Sezzle
4 interest-free payments, eligible for purchases under $1500CAD.  Requires two business days minimum to process purchase.

Q: Do you accept returns?
A: Preloved Lux does not offer refunds or exchange on any item other than for concerns regarding authenticity.  All sales are final.  Please review the photos carefully and ask any questions you may have prior to purchase.
Q: Are your prices negotiable?
A: Prices on our website are firm.  We do offer flexible payment plan for most of our items and you can contact us for details.
Q: How does payment plan/layaway work?
A: We do not charge extra for payment plan/layaway. You are responsible for an upfront 30% non-refundable deposit via EMT (Canada) or Zelle (USA), and subsequent payments can extend up to 8 weeks.  Once you have fully paid, we will ship the item to you.  Please note that if you have not paid in full by the end of the 8-week period, the order will be cancelled and your deposit will be forfeited.  Please contact us at for more details.

Q: How are your prices determined?
A: We base our prices on recent sales of comparable items and the current retail values.  For consignment items the price is calculated as a small markup above the consignor's target sale price.  Due to the recent rise in popularity of preloved luxury items, prices have been going up rapidly in the past few years.
Q: The price of an item increased since the last time I checked here.  What happened?
A: For consignment items, we review the prices with our consignors when the initial period ends.  If they wish to re-list their item with us, the price may go up or down.

Q: Do you ship to my country/What do you charge for shipping?
A: Shipping is FREE to USA and Canada and we use Canada Post with tracking and signature confirmation.  USA includes all 50 states but excludes Puerto Rico, Guam, APO/FPO etc.  We also do not ship to any other countries at this time.  Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, we have seen shipping delays which are out of our control.  Please keep this in mind when ordering, and contact us if you have further concerns.
Q: Who is responsible for customs fees/taxes?
A: At the time of purchase, you (the customer) are also agreeing to pay any customs/duties that may be imposed by your country upon delivery of your item.  Please consider these potential costs when you place your purchase.  All items will be declared at full purchase price.

Q: Do you charge Sales Tax?
American Customers:
No sales taxes are charged when we ship to an address in the US.  However, you will be responsible for any and all customs/duties which may be charged at the border.  We declare all merchandise at full value.

Canadian Customers:
Preloved Lux is required by law to charge sales tax on orders within Canada. GST or HST is charged at the rate as shown on the table below.

Q: Do you take consignment?
A: Yes, we do take consignment, contact us at for details or click on the following link for consignment:
Payout will be sent to consignor, up to 3 business days after the 1st and 15th of each month.  The rates are as follows:

Consignment Fee for Final value of Sold Item:
Under 999 CAD       50% 
1000-2499 CAD       45%
2500-4499 CAD       40% 
4500 CAD and up     35%

(Above fees include 4% PayPal fee of the final sale price, $50 authentication fee, and shipping fee).
We also do in-person buyout with cash or email money transfer for certain items.  We will provide you with a quote in-person.  Once we completed the in-house authentication and/or 3rd party authentication to confirm the item authenticity, we will provide you with payment at the spot.
